Kentucky partners with Missouri to expand elk populations in the Midwest. The "Show Me" state turns to its neighbor across the Mississippi River to help re-establish elk. Impressed with what they saw in the health and vitality of Kentucky's herd, the request from officials in Missouri was a natural. "Kentucky Afield" television travels to the Begley Wildlife Management Area in Harlan, Bell and Leslie counties for the details. There, Lonnie Hansen with the Missouri Department of Conservation meets with Tina Brunjes, deer and elk program coordinator with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, as selected animals begin preparation for a new home in the forests and fields of the Ozark Mountains.
