Illinois' Aaron Cosby to Transfer, Louisville an Option?

Illinois guard Aaron Cosby is planning to transfer, according to the Chicago Sun Times. The 6'3", 200 lbs. junior was suspended indefinitely for violatiing team rules. Cosby will be eligible next season.

“After having further discussions with Aaron and evaluating the situation from both sides, he and I have mutually agreed that it is best to part ways,” coach John Groce said in a statement. “I enjoyed coaching Aaron and appreciate the contributions he made during his time here. I wish him success and will be rooting for him to have a great finish to his career.”

Cosby averaged 7.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists this season.

He went to duPont Manual for his freshman season in high school and then went to J-Town. After a year in prep school he committed to Seton Hall.

Rick Pitino has mentioned a few times this season that he is looking for one or two transfers to finish his 2015 class. Could Cosby be an option? We will hve to wait and see.
